"Pretty Boy" in the rear behind Dam & twin broether
This
buck was originally destined to be a show wether. He was
disbudded with this in mind but was purchased prior to banding and
used as a buck.
This boy comes from one of
the BEST show wether producing lines we own so when we saw him come
back up for sale-we bought him back.
We lost Pretty Boy's dam this year and have kept every doe kid out of
her. Some of our best wethers this year came out of Ruby
daughters and their cross to Fandango!.
We will be using Pretty Boy on several of our does this summer in an
effort to bring more of this line back into our own herd.
The buck will
then be available for departure to another farm.
Pretty Boy's dam, Ruby, was a superb mother who kidded triplets more
often than not. Ruby had a gorgeous udder with plenty of milk,
good udder attachments and two teats: one on each side.
We are fortunate to have this opportunity to use Pretty Boy before
sending him one down the road. Don't let his gangly looks fool you-this
buck was a meat packing fool as a kid-we are still trying to put his
muscle and weight back on. Pretty boy looks a lot like his
Maternal Uncle: 2DOX Four-On-The-Floor who has been used in Texas
as a wether maker for years and was recently sold to new owners in
Kansas.
Pretty Boy exemplifies the best of BOTH his sire and dam. We LOVE
this line and and feel confident in what it has the potential
to produce.
